Chassis:
’75 Caddy Coupe Deville shortened 8 inches. The Caddy coil springs have been shortened in the rear for the low stance and Aldan coil overs were installed up front. Disc brakes are all around. The rear end is a Ford 9” with 2:75 gears riding on 15” Weld Pro Star wheels.
Drive train:
A stock 500 cubic inch Caddy engine with 4-barrel carburetion and Stock HEI ignition sits under the hood hooked to a stock 2 ¼” exhaust system by Jimmy’s Muffler in Covina, CA. The tranny is stock re-built by K-line Transmission, Walnut, CA. Cooling comes from a Hoffman Radiator of Orange, CA 4-core radiator.
Body & Interior:
Originally a 40 LaSalle Coupe, the top was removed and replaced by a removable Carson style top. The rear fenders have been widened, the hood has been chopped 2” and shaved, and electric trunk hood, windows and wind wings were added. Mirrors from an 80 GM product were used along with Toyota flatbed truck taillights that have been frenched into the rear panel. The stock LaSalle headlights have also been frenched. The 93 GMC truck Teal paint was applied by Carl Braden Enterprises of Chino Hills, CA, while Ron’s Colorworks in Montclair, CA laid on the graphics and striping. Very little of the original chrome has been left on the car. Quality Upholstery of Bloomington, CA applied the combination tweed, naugahyde and hartz cloth interior to the custom-made rear seat and Thunderbird front seat. The instruments are Cyberdyne digital. Cool air comfort comes from a 75 Cadillac, while a Realistic AM/FM cassette player blasts out the sounds. The owner did wiring. A custom wood-rimmed steering sits atop the 75 Caddy shortened tilt/tele steering column.
